Aviation Literature/Doctrine

Find Aviation publications, task lists and supporting references. Compare aircraft, audience and version labels, then check the official record and access.

Find and compare Aviation references

Use this directory to identify an Aviation reference by its complete title, publication number and product type. It combines ATPs, field manuals, training circulars, soldier manuals, individual critical task lists and supporting training material. These formats serve different purposes. Read the complete label and destination to distinguish a publication from a task list.

Match aircraft and audience labels

Keep aircraft and audience details with the title. The list distinguishes aircraft families and variants, as well as pilot, maintenance-test-pilot and other role labels. Several critical task lists separate civilian or contractor, commissioned-officer, warrant-officer and enlisted audiences. A familiar aircraft name alone does not identify the right document for the audience you are researching.

Keep distinct titles and versions separate

Preserve the publication prefix and any change wording. ATP 3-94.1 appears under both Digital Liaison Detachment and Theater Liaison Detachment labels; the Theater label also has different source destinations. TC 3-04.81 has linked and unlinked entries. These distinctions remain so you can compare the source records instead of assuming that matching numbers or titles mean identical copies.

Check the source before saving

The Army Publishing Directorate overview explains that its publication search includes current and obsolete departmental records. Compare the official publication identifier, title and status with the document you have. For critical task lists, inspect their originating catalog records and identifying details. Retain any edition, change or date information in your notes; this directory does not establish which version applies.

A catalog record and a direct file may provide different identifying context. Follow the destination’s access requirements and document markings. Neither a working link nor an unlinked title proves public-release status. Use the ArmyTEO catalog to find related tasks by complete number, title or MOS/AOC, then save useful records and revisit Saved tasks in this browser. Saving retains a shortcut; it does not store the PDF, verify an edition or grant source access.
