AG Literature/Doctrine

Find Adjutant General publications, task lists and course references. Compare identifiers, audiences and editions, then check official sources and access.

Find and compare Adjutant General references

Start with the kind of reference you need. This Adjutant General directory combines doctrine publications with individual critical task lists, course material, training support packages, soldier manuals and other references. The 42A skill-level lists, officer and warrant-officer lists, and dated equal-opportunity course entries serve different audiences. A course title or task list should not be treated as a substitute for a publication with a similar subject.

Keep audience and version details together

Keep the complete identifier, audience and version wording. ATP 1-0.1 and ATTP 1-0.1 are separate labels in this list. The 42A entries distinguish skill levels, while several course entries include version numbers or dates. Identical-looking titles can also point to different catalog records or files. Compare those destinations before deciding which record belongs in your reference set.

Check the appropriate official record

The Army Publishing Directorate overview explains that its publication search includes both current and obsolete departmental records. For a publication, compare the official identifier, title and status with the copy you have. For a course or training product, check the originating catalog record and the product’s own identifying information. Do not assume that a listed course version or an older publication label is the one you need today.

Some entries provide source links; others retain only a title. An unlinked entry is still useful for searching, but its lack of a link does not establish that it is restricted. A working link likewise does not certify currency or public-release status. Follow the destination’s access instructions and document markings.

Connect references to a saved shortlist

Use the ArmyTEO catalog to locate related tasks by complete number, title or MOS/AOC. Save selected records, then reopen Saved tasks in the same browser. Saving keeps a record shortcut, not the document or an access permission. Keep the source URL, version details and date checked in your own reference notes.
